About The Modern Tea Shop

The Modern Tea Shop came out of a deep love for "all the tea things.” I’m building an online experience for those who share a passion for tea and for anyone who enjoys a nice cuppa.

My name is Anna and I am a Certified Tea Specialist. I grew up in the southern US where iced tea was served at almost every meal. On a trip to London many years ago, I had a cup of hot black tea with milk and sugar and I was hooked. I enjoy a cuppa every morning! My other favorite teas include Taiwanese Oolong, Rooibos, Matcha, and (most) green teas. 

A few years ago I started collecting vintage cups and saucers, and teapots. I don't usually look at the bottom of the cup for a maker's mark (although I won't pass up a Paragon!). I enjoy finding pieces that bring joy. Here in my shop you will find vintage china, handmade mugs, tea accessories that make you say 'that's clever,' and digital art that you can download immediately.
